Product Creation Workshop
October 10th: 9:30am - 11:30am

Join patent lawyer and electrical engineer Jack Schwartz, who will lead an in-depth workshop on the process of turning ideas into real, marketable products. Participants will gain practical knowledge on conducting patent searches, filing applications, and navigating trademarks and licensing agreements. The session will also cover strategies for protecting intellectual property while developing prototypes, including the use of modern tools such as 3D printing. This workshop is ideal for entrepreneurs, inventors, and business professionals looking to bring new concepts to life with confidence, clarity, and legal protection.

Jack Shwartz

Mr. Schwartz received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from The George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science in 1988. Immediately thereafter he attended The American University, Washington College of Law. In the fall of 1989, he obtained a full- time position as a Patent Agent while attending law school at night. This position entailed performing all phases of Patent Prosecution patent prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as instructing Foreign Associates foreign associates on how they should respond to foreign actions by the foreign patent offices of the firm’s clients. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Schwartz moved to New York where he worked as an associate Patent Attorney at a New York City Law Firm. This position entailed performing all phases of Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law including drafting of Applications for United States Letters Patents, responding to Office Actions issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office and preparing
validity and infringement opinions.
